BRANIFF INTERNATIONAL Lockheed L-188A Electra Braniff placed an order for nine Electras on December 16, 1955, later purchased a tenth aircraft, and operated one on lease. Entering service between Dallas and New York on June 15, 1959, the four-engined turboprops flew Braniff's routes until early 1969, when they were replaced by pure jet equipment.
