Great Northern's Train Number 6, "The Casca-dian", was Great Northern's passenger local formany years on the Tacoma-Spokane Route. Stop-ping at every small station, "The Cascadian" gave the only service to these small towns as the faster trains, "The Empire Builder" and "The Western Star", stopped only at the major terminals. A highlight of a trip over this route was the 7.8 mile long Cascade Tunnel.
